Reader Feedback: The Future of This Blog

Let’s talk.

I love working on this blog but I have a time problem.

Between working full-time, blogging, doing book reviews for another site and the normal interruptions of everyday life I don’t have enough energy or time to work on the short stories and novel developing in my mind.

I do not want to give up on On the Other Hand but something needs to change.

Option One: Guest posts. If there is enough interest I could begin featuring occasional guest posts.

Option Two: Post less. It’s easy to whip up Suggestion Saturday posts so I won’t be getting rid of that series. The topical posts take longer, though, and I’m thinking about cutting them back to once a week.

Options Three, Four, Five: Any other ideas?

  1. I sure understand about the time restraints and I’m retired! Personally, I like option two because I love your writing and I subscribe by e-mail (thanks for providing this option) so I always know when there is a new post, even if they should happen at random intervals (as mine do!). I love your fiction and I would love to be able to read your short stories and novels, so take time to write them.  I am also very fond of your unsung heroes series! Make it work for you and I will enjoy it whenever it happens.  Love also finding the Sat. suggestions when I wake on Sat. mornings! Hope this helps!

  2. Thank you all so much for you feedback. It looks like it’s unanimous! I’ll start posting less frequently this upcoming week.

I’m hoping to sell a book of short stories here at some point (including that series about the water people I posted earlier this winter.) I’ll keep you updated on the progress. 🙂

  3. I’d hate to see you give up on this blog too. 🙁
I think I’d go with either option 1 or 2. (Why not both?!)
    🙂
