There’s something about the cozy mystery genre that screams autumn to me.
No, every cozy mystery isn’t set at this time of the year, but I recently learned that a surprising number of them are.
There are also a lot of cozy mysteries that include the colour orange in their titles or somewhere in their covers.
This isn’t a genre I read regularly, so I’d be curious to hear if those of you who do have a lot of experience with it have noticed the same patterns.

Love this list! I dabble with cozy mysteries, and I have noticed a lot seem to have an autumn setting (or at least autumn vibe, based on the cover and/or title). I think I’ll be adding a couple of these to my TBR 🙂

LOVE all of these covers, Lydia! Haha this is my second time seeing the cover for Knit of the Living Dead and I love it even more — it’s adorable 😍 The Candy Corn Murder cover is great too. I’ve been wanting to read more cosy mysteries so some of these are defo going on my TBR! Great picks 😊

That’s a lot of fun! I enjoy reading cozy mysteries, but I hadn’t thought to look for any for this prompt. It does seem that cozies incorporate the season into the story (and book cover) more than many genres, so this was a perfect pick!

I love this theme! Super cute going for books that are actually seasonally themed vs. coloration! Even though I don’t read cozy mysteries (except on a rare occasion) I always have loved their naming convention! Also, is it weird that when I saw “Death by Pumpkin Spice” I gave a side eye of caution to the pumpkin spice flavored coffee next to me?

Cozy mysteries always seem to have such cute titles.

I don’t read a ton of mysteries, let alone cozy mysteries, but all these covers look so much fun, so I need to give them a try. Also, the cover for Candy Corn Murder is ADORABLE.

Nice list! It’s only recently that I’ve come to really appreciate cozy mysteries. I don’t love all of them, of course, but I’ve found some series I really enjoy. And, yes, I’ve noticed that most of them seem to take place during the Fall and Winter. Since Fall is the definition of cozy, I think that makes sense 🙂

Cozy mystery is one of my favorite genres, so I’m thrilled to see your post today! Especially with so many great ones included. The Stitching Hour is great, and you can never go wrong with a good Agatha Christie novel.

Now that’s a hard question! I really, really like the Agatha Raisin series by M.C. Beaton. But I’ve been loving Vivien Chien’s noodle shop mysteries lately. And Abby Collette’s new series that starts with A Deadly Inside Scoop is fantastic so far … honestly, pick a cozy and I probably like it! What about you?

Ooh cozy mystery fall covers! I love a good cozy mystery and stopped reading them for awhile. I need to go back because I’m in the middle of like 4 different series lol.

I agree! There IS something about the cozy mystery genre that feels very autumn. Even when her covers don’t convey fall, the subject of Agatha Christie stories always “seem” autumn-esque – perhaps because they’re darker. Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland.
