Here’s a fun fact about me: I love foggy days so long as I don’t have to travel anywhere during them. (Driving in fog is too dangerous for me to ever look forward to it!)
There’s something poetic about seeing how this sort of weather blurs the edges of the buildings, trees, and other places I know so well when I can view it from the safety and comfort of home, though.
Here are ten books with foggy, misty, or otherwise hazy covers.
1. The Mist by Stephen King
2. House of Sand and Fog by Andre Dubus III
3. The Prince of Mist (Niebla, #1) by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
4. Fog Magic by Julia L. Sauer
5. The Fog Horn by Ray Bradbury
6. Mean Streak by Sandra Brown
7. The Mist in the Mirror by Susan Hill
8. Fog Island by Tomi Ungerer
9. The Fog by Kyo Maclear
10. Sleepwalker in a Fog by Tatyana Tolstaya
Oh, wow! I think fog is a tough one but you have some great covers here.
Thank you very much. 🙂
Wow, great idea!
Here is mine: https://wordsandpeace.com/2024/11/05/my-top-10-books-with-an-eiffel-tower-on-the-cover/
Thanks. I literally just left a comment over there before checking my site. 🙂
This is a nice topic choice! I like foggy days too when I don’t have to drive in it. There’s something eery and beautiful about it. The Mist both the story and the film version are favorites.
They were both excellent.
I mostly only see fog at night where I live, but I like your idea! I went with bikes.
Cool!
Ooh, I like this theme, and what great covers! As someone who lives in a very foggy area (our fog even has a name!), I can appreciate how amazing it can look (so long as I don’t have to drive in it). I’ve never seen that Bradbury before — will need to check it out!
Thank you. Hope you like Bradbury’s story.
Fantastic topic! I’d never have thought of something like fog in a million years!
Thanks. 🙂
Oh, these are great! I also love foggy days as long as I don’t have to go anywhere. We used to get some wonderfully foggy days where I went to college. I’m too much in the middle of a city these days to get many properly foggy days. (Though I enjoy them when I do!)
I went with yarny book covers this week: https://bookwyrmknits.com/2024/11/05/top-ten-tuesday-yarn-it/
Thank you. Yeah, fog in cities is an entirely different thing.
Good post! The link took me to last week?
Oh, weird. I didn’t realize I did that. Let me try to fix it.
My bad I was in last week’s link post [election day hysteria]
No worries! These things happen.
Very clever!
Thanks. 🙂
While not fun to be out in, I would agree that fog does have some kind of cool atmospheric element. Makes it a cool thing to use in design, especially the types of stories that fall a bit into the spooky category. 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting my list today!
You’re welcome, and I totally agree there.
I love your topic, I love the fog, especially on the road, I know it’s dangerous, but I love how it looks over the mountains, as if you were driving on clouds.
Thank you. Yes, it’s gorgeous on the mountains.
Ooh love these! Great item idea! Happy Tuesday!
Thank you. 🙂
I love that you chose fog for your topic! These are some great books!
Thanks. 🙂
Great topic! We’ve been having a foggy few days here this week and I agree with you: not fun for driving, but very nice to watch from inside 🙂
Have fun looking out at your fog!
Fog makes for great covers but not so much for driving in it! I love topic. Have a great week!
Thanks. You, too.
I agree that fog can be beautiful but also scary.

For sure.
Great choice for this week’s topic! I agree. I like the look of fog as long as I don’t have to drive in it!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Thanks!
What a unique and fun choice for this week’s TTT! Good job. 😀
Thank you.
This was such a unique idea! I feel the same way about driving in fog, it’s terrifying. There is a strange sort of beauty to fog though. I haven’t read any of these, but The Fog looks adorable 🙂
If you’d like to visit, here’s my TTT: https://thebooklorefairy.blogspot.com/2024/11/top-ten-tuesday-books-with-swords-on-the-cover.html
Thank you. Yes, its beautiful for sure.
I tried to leave a comment on your site, but I don’t think it went through!
Oooh, yes, I LOVE a foggy cover. They’re very popular in my favorite genres—mysteries/thrillers and historical fiction. I always find them appealing. Great list!
Happy TTT (on a Wednesday)!

I should read more from both of those genres. Good to know. Happy TTT to you as well.
This is such a great idea, and it seems like it would be hard to find foggy covers. I love the fog too, and yep, driving in it is so scary!
Yes, I did have to do some searching for sure. 🙂 Stay safe out there on the foggy roads.
Ouuu creepy!! I like mist too, which is not something I get to see very often! Cool topic and I haven’t read any of them but the cover for Fog Magic is nice 🙂
Thanks for visiting my blog earlier, Lydia !
You’re welcome. I’d share some of Ontario’s misty days with you if I could. 🙂
This is such a great choice because it’s not something I see a lot of! Very cool.
Thank you. 🙂
Very atmospheric covers Lydia!
Belatedly, here’s mine for this week: https://portobellobookblog.com/2024/11/05/top-ten-tuesday-5th-november-2024-books-with-trees-on-the-cover-toptentuesday-amreading-bookrecommendations-tuesdaybookblog/
Thank you!
I haven’t read S.King’s The Mist yet, but I did watch the movie when I was a kid and still haven’t recovered from the trauma 😅😅 But the theme you picked is the perfect creepy autumn aesthetic!
Thank you. Yeah, that movie was very scary.
What a great list and pick for the prompt. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by my blog earlier this week.
You’re welcome. Happy weekend!
Love how fog instantly evokes a mysteries atmosphere. Great selection!
Yes, it sure does. Thanks.
I also love fog, even though I don’t typically see it often around here. Great list, and it seems like it goes well with the theme of a lot of books you read with elements of horror and mystery and paranormal. I automatically thought of House of Sand and Fog, which was an incredible read and a powerful movie.
Good point! Yes, it sure does.
I should read House of Sand and Fog sometime.
What a good topic! I haven’t read any of these, but your prompt made me curious to see what I have on my shelf. I recommend Already in the Kudzu by Hannah Hood Lucero and The Souls of Lost Lake by Jaime Jo Wright.
Nice. Thank you.
