After a long, hot, humid summer, autumn is such a relief.
No more heat waves.
No more forest fires.
No more air quality warnings (hopefully).
My seasonal allergies will rapidly improve after the first overnight freeze.
Pumpkin-flavoured stuff is everywhere.
Soon the leaves will change colour and be beautiful for several weeks.
And Halloween is only about a month away!
In honour of that, here are ten book covers that give off fall vibes:

1. Mooncakes by Suzanne Walker

2. To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

3. Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell

4. Squashed by Joan Bauer

5. Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf by Lois Ehlert

6. The Cider House Rules by John Irving

7. A Fall of Marigolds by Susan Meissner

8. The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson

9. The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill

10. Pumpkin Spice Up Your Life (Wish, #10) by Suzanne Nelson
These all look so delightfully autumn! I think I had Susan’s on my shelf at one time. 🙂
Oh, cool!
You found so many books that not only celebrate fall with festive covers and titles, but that also are great reads.
Thank you. 🙂
Fab covers!
Thanks!
I love Marigolds, so The Fall of Marigolds caught my eye.

Some really clever choices. I like the Shirley Jackson one, very spooky.

I love love love Pumpkinheads and Mooncakes! 😍 I still need to read The Girl Who Drank the Moon but I love that cover too. Great picks!
Glad to hear it, Dini!
Good call on TKAM! (Funny, though, since we in Alabama don’t really get fall. XD)
Yeah, I’ve heard that about the U.S. south. How interesting. 🙂
You picked some good ones!
Thanks. 🙂
Pumpkin Heads is just the best!
🙂
Yeah, here’s hoping for better air quality and no more forest fires for a long while! I Loved both Mooncakes and Pumpkinheads so much!

You’re welcome, and thanks.
Mooncakes was delightful, and a perfect choice for this week’s topic! And The Girl Who Drank the Moon as a great cover, too. That one’s on my TBR list, if I ever get to it.
Woohoo! That’s great.
Nice Picks. Pumpkin Spice up your life looks good. Thank you for visiting earlier.
You’re welcome. Thanks for stopping by.

🙂
I agree, so many great things about Fall😁 I love the covers for Mooncakes and The Cider House Rules.
Glad to hear it. 🙂
The Haunting of Hill House is SUCH a good cover!
Totally agreed there. Very scary but in an understated way.
Both Mooncakes and Pumpkinheads were super cute and really hit that ‘cozy’ vibe.
For sure!
That’s a fantastic and comprehensive list of covers! I particularly love your inclusion of spooky classics like **The Haunting of Hill House**—nothing says autumn like a good atmospheric ghost story! And of course, **Pumpkinheads** and **Pumpkin Spice Up Your Life** are perfectly on-theme.
Thank you very much!
I loved The Girl Who Drank the Moon! Great list!!
Thank you! 🙂
I haven’t thought about The Cider House Rules in a long time. I remember loving that book! This is a great mix — so fun to see Mooncakes and Pumpkinheads included!
Thanks. Yeah the film version of The Cider House Rules was good, too.
So funny how different seasons mean different things for different regions. Fall is actually the start of our fire season. Mooncakes has one of the most charming covers.
That’s fascinating. Thanks for sharing.
Love these – especially The Girl Who Drank the Moon. Happy Thursday!
Thank you. Happy Friday!
Mooncakes is really calling to me because it’s the Mooncake Festival and I’m feeling nostalgic!
Happy Mooncake Festival!
What fabulous choices, Lydia. Definitely fall vibes.
Thanks!
