Thank you to Rachel @ Sunny Side for submitting this week’s theme!
I only have one setting to talk about this week: Prince Edward Island. It’s somewhere I’ve wanted to visit since I first read the Anne of Green Gables books as a child. You can probably already guess what the first book on this list will be!
Someday I will visit that island, but in the meantime there are so many books set there that I sort of feel like I already know it.

1. Anne of Green Gables (Anne of Green Gables, #1) by L.M. Montgomery

2. The Troop by Nick Cutter

3. Tango: The Tale of an Island Dog by Eileen Beha

’4. This Summer Will Be Different by Carley Fortune

5. Acadian Legends, Folktale and Songs from Prince Edward Island by George Arsenault

6. Favourite Recipes of Old Prince Edward Island by Julie Watson

7. Mi’kmaq Campfire Stories of Prince Edward Island by Julie Pellissier-Lush

8. Mermaids of Prince Edward Island by Allison Wolvers

9. Mirrors on which dust has fallen by Jeff Bursey

10. Black Islanders: Prince Edward Island’s Historical Black Community by Jim Hornby
I’m the same! I’ve loved the idea of seeing this place since the 80s ‘Anne’ series. 🙂
Awesome!
Nice list, I hope you get to visit the island one day! The cover of Tango is adorable.
Thank you. 🙂
I wouldn’t imagined so many books being set there! Interestingly, though, I DO know a trucking/country song set there — sort of.
“It’s Bud the Spud! from the bright red mud
Rollin’ down the highway smilin’
The spuds are big on the back of Bud’s rig
They’re from Prince Edward Island
They’re from Prince Edward Island!
The cops ‘ave been lookin for the son-of- a- gun
That’s been rippin’ the tar off the 401
They know the name of the truck shines out in the sun
‘Green Gables’
“So when you see that big truck a rolling by
Wave your hand or kinda wink your eye.
Cause that’s bud the spud from old PEI
With another big load of potatoes!!!”
My dad was a trucker, so I know a lot of trucking songs….even Canadian ones. XD
I love this. Thank you for sharing.
I think a lot of us feel the same way about Prince Edward Island.
Thanks for sharing your #TTT
Absolutely. And you’re welcome.
Prince Edward Island is a dream destination for me (and Anne is on my list this week too!). I’ve made it to Nova Scotia (many years ago), and hope to eventually return and spend more time, including PEI!!
May you get to see PEI. Nova Scotia sounds beautiful, too.
I really hope you get to visit the island one day, Lydia! 😊
Aww, thank you.
I’m so embarrassed to say that I’ve never actually read Anne of Green Gables. I hope you get to visit Prince Edward Island one day!
Thank you. 🙂 I hope you like that series if you read it someday.
So, wild guess here–you really, really want to visit PEI!! I hope you get to–soon. I loved the Anne books when I read them as an adult. I never met them as a kid in the 1970s. They must have been out of fashion where I grew up.
Heh, yes, I do!
It’s interesting that you didn’t meet the Anne books as a kid.
I reread 3 of the Green Gables series last year and it increased my desire to visit!
yay!
I’ve read Anne of Green Gables, but none of the others. I will be checking a couple of them out. A friend of mine moved to PEI during the pandemic and my daughter moved to Halifax 3 years ago. Now I make the trip out there each year and spend a few days on the island as well as time with my daughter. I am lucky. It’s beautiful, Lyda.
Oh, that’s lovely. Thank you for sharing, Carla. I’m glad you get those trips.
Lovely theme for this week’s TTT post! I want to visit Prince Edward Island too. I’ve heard that Caravan Tours gives tours of the Anne of Green Gables area.
Thank you. I’ll add Caravan Tours on my list of things to research for Prince Edward Island. What a great idea.
Somehow, I’ve still not read Anne of Green Gables, maybe this year will be the time! Love the sound of This Summer Will Be Different 🙂
Oh, that’s fascinating. Hope you like This Summer Will Be Different.
These look interesting. I didn’t know that there were so many books based there.
Have a great weekend!
Thank you. Yeah, there are a very decent number of them!
Great list! I hadn’t realized there were so many fiction books set in Prince Edward Island! (The non-fiction ones don’t surprise me as much.) I hoe you get to visit someday!
Thank you. Fingers crossed!
And, yeah, that surprised me, too.
Love that you’ve books set in on Prince Edward Island. I love the audiobook of Anne of Green Gables, read by Rachel McAdams!
Oh, cool. I’ll have to look that version up!
Mermaids of Prince Edward Island looks beautiful!
For sure. 🙂
I would LOVE to go down east and visit all of the Maritimes.
Here’s my TTT for the week: https://readbakecreate.com/books-set-in-iceland-books-set-in-bucket-list-locations/
Yay! I hope you can someday.
Gotta love Anne!
For sure. 🙂
I have been wanting to visit PEI since reading the Anne books as well! I didn’t know that The Troop is set there, I have it on hold from my library, hopefully it gets to me soon because now I’m excited to read it.
I hope you love it!
pei is the dream! i had no idea that carley fortune’s book was set in pei. i’ve seen this book floating around for months now. i’ll have to move it up on my tbr list.
May you enjoy it!
Anne was my favourite series as a child and I revisited it as an adult and loved it just as much! I also wanted to go to PEI.
Aww, that’s lovely. I Hope you can go there someday.
Nice list. Have a good week and a good day! Here is my link to my TTT. https://dmhoisington.wordpress.com/2026/04/07/top-ten-tuesday-26-books-about-set-in-places-on-my-bucket-list/
Thanks.
AOGG and PEI made my list as well. Thanks for sharing this great list.
You’re welcome. It’s cool we had that overlap.
Tango: The Tale of an Island Dog looks like a sweet read. 💚
I know, right? 🙂
I suspect I would be very sad if I ever did actually get to visit Prince Edward Island and I didn’t find Anne of Green Gables there. Or would everyone there be just like Anne?
That’s an interesting thought!
Despite living in Canada, I haven’t traveled around the country enough and I haven’t been to PEI but I’d love to one day! I still need to read Anne of Green Gables too! And that Mermaids of PEI book also looks cool! 🙂
We live in such a big country! I haven’t been to most of it either.
Although I’ve been to Canada, I’ve never been to PEI. Canada has so many places to see, just like the US does.
