Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

A blue envelope lying with its flap up. It’s ready to receive the card or letter that will go on there. Thank you to Joanne @ Portobello Book Blog for submitting this theme! Here are ten books with honourifics in the title. I chose as many ones that I’ve read as possible, but I had to branch out a little to other options as well.

1. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #1) by Ransom Riggs

2. Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke

3. Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf

4. Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore (Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore, #1) by Robin Sloan

5. Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and other stories by Robert Louis Stevenson

6. The Simple Faith of Mister Rogers: Spiritual Insights from the World’s Most Beloved Neighbor by Amy Hollingsworth

7. Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert

8. Becoming Mrs. Lewis by Patti Callahan Henry

9. Mrs. Poe by Lynn Cullen

10. Miss Rhythm by Ruth Brown

  1. Mrs Poe is on my list this week too! I also enjoyed Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell.

  2. I had many of these books in my list too.

  3. Oh my! I just realized that I left off my favorite person with an honorific in his title — Mister Rogers — from my list.

  4. I thought of Jekyll & Hyde as well as the Strange and Norrell book, but I haven’t read one of them and I was a kid when I did the other, so I focused on titles I’ve read during my blog’s tenure.

  5. I just finished Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell! Great book, but very long lol. I’ve also read Mrs. Dalloway and Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde.

  6. I don’t think I ever continued the series, but I remember really enjoying the first Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children with how unique the photos made the story feel.

I’ve seen Mr Penumbra on quite a few lists and I don’t think I’ve read that one – must check it out!

  8. the Mister Rogers book sounds really good!

  9. Your list has made me give myself a mental note; I think I own Ransom Riggs’ book (or maybe did?) and I know I have a copy (somewhere) of ‘Mrs. Lewis’! Two more I could have added. 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting my list today!

  10. We share two selections: Mr. Penumbra and Mrs. Dalloway. I considered Mr. Rogers but opted to not include nonfiction titles.

  11. Poinsettia

  12. Great list! Mr. Penumbra is on mine this week also, though in my case it’s a TBR book. And I’m curious about you finding a Mr. Rodgers book to include! There’s not many nonfiction titles on the lists this week.

  13. I almost put Mr Penumbra on mine, but then I realized my list was all women and switched him out. 😂

  14. What a great list! You did well with this topic. I haven’t read any of these.

  15. Several of these are really popular this week!

  16. Lux

  17. I can’t believe Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde didn’t occur to me sooner. What a great pick!

  18. I read three of your books. It was such a fun challenge.
