All of these titles make me giggle! I have not read any of them yet, so let me know if you’ve read and liked any of them.
1. The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse by Robert Rankin
2. Annie Gomez and the Gigantic Foot of Doom by Jay Cutts
3. It Sucked and Then I Cried: How I Had a Baby, a Breakdown, and a Much Needed Margarita by Heather B. Armstrong
4. Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls by David Sedaris
5. The Strange Case of Origami Yoda (Origami Yoda #1) by Tom Angleberger
6. How You Can Bowl Better Using Self-Hypnosis by Jack Heise
7. The Minotaur Takes a Cigarette Break by Steven Sherrill
8. How To Tell Your Cat About Trump by Breaking Burgh
9. The Grass Is Always Greener over the Septic Tank by Erma Bombeck
10. How to Make Your Cat an Internet Celebrity: A Guide to Financial Freedom by Patricia Carlin
I read the whole Origami Yoda series last year during a Middle Grade readathon. I really enjoyed it. I know that my kid will one day too. It was so cute and fun!
Oh, that’s so neat!
How to tell your cat about trump definitely got a giggle out of me. Excellent list!
Glad to hear it. Thanks!
LOL 1, 3, and 8! Suck a fun topic. I messed up and did it last week.
I’m glad you enjoyed them!
And I’ve messed up the topics before, too. You’re totally not alone there. 🙂
Wha ha ha!! The hollow bunnies of the apocalypse. Do you think that is real bunnies or only playboy bunnies? It sucked and then I cried – I can relate.
Nice post Lydia, brought a smile to my face.
Elza Reads
LOL, that’s a great question. I can’t even begin to guess.
Glad you liked my post.
These were so funny!!!
Glad to hear it!
How To Tell Your Cat About Trump – I do believe this is very important literature xD
Great list!
Heh, agreed! And thanks.
Your titles are way funnier than mine were! I love them!
Heh, thanks!
I’ve heard of a few of these, but haven’t read them. Erma Bombeck’s book titles are all great (When You Look Like Your Passport Photo, It’s Time To Go Home — for example) — I remember an older relative who was a fan and always read her books! How to Tell Your Cat About Trump sounds amazing!
I’ll have to look up more of Bombeck’s stuff! Glad you were amused by How to Tell Your Cat About Trump.
The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of The Apocalypse is such a brilliant title, made me chuckle!

I’m glad you liked it!
I had no idea there were so many funny book titles out there!
🙂
Great post, some truly awfully funny titles! Origami Yoda sounds like one I might check out.
Thank you very much! Hope you like Origami Yoda.
Love The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse and How To Tell Your Cat About Trump 🙂
Yay! I’m glad.
These are so funny!!
Thanks. 🙂
That Sedaris one should have made my list, but I must have overlooked it! Good ones here.
Thank you very much!
Another great TTT post, Lydia. I love the first title on your list especially!
Thank you very much!
I just went ahead and bought “How to tell your cat about Trump”, wish I had found it four years ago so I could explain to my boy why I was spending so much time angry, crying, or angry-crying. And I completely forgot about The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse! Such a fun story!
A great list, as usual!
That’s awesome. I hope you love How to Tell Your Cat About Trump.
Thank you for your kind words.
These titles are amazing, I especially love The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse haha!
Thanks! So glad you enjoyed my list.
Some of these titles are amazing! I particularly love the Robert Rankin and the David Sedaris – chocolate bunnies of the apocalypse is a great mental image, and I really want to know how he explores diabetes with owls. Will definitely end up checking some of these books out.
Thank you very much!
I hope you enjoy whichever of these books you pick.
I’ve always loved Erma Bombeck.
Cool! Which book from her do you like the most?
It Sucked and Then I Cried sounds so funny–great picks!
Thank you very much!
LOL, these are great titles! They bring a smile to my day for sure.
My TTT this week: https://bookwyrmknits.com/2021/03/23/top-ten-tuesday-funny-book-titles/
That’s great!
I actually have read The Grass is Always Greener Over the Septic Tank…a long time ago. I want to say I was in my last year of high school. I read this one and a couple others by Erma Bombeck. I often think I should re-read them since, although I remember liking the books a lot, I probably didn’t truly appreciate them as much as I would now that I’m older and wiser.
Oh, that’s great! I’m glad you liked that one. I should read Bombeck’s work sometime.
It Sucked and Then I Cried has a fantastic title!

So glad you thought so!
These are fun. I especially like Annie Gomez. 🙂
Thanks!
These all sound hilarious. But I’m curious. How do you tell your cat about Trump? And why? Why would you ruin its life? LOL
Thanks for visiting my TTT earlier.
LOL, those are some great questions. And you’re welcome.
Wow, these are awesome titles!! Way better than any of mine lol! 😂 Great post, Lydia!
Thank you very much!
These all had me giggling 🤣 I think my favorite is #3, because I understand the struggle, hahah!
Heh, that’s great!
Oh my god, these are great. I think Annie Gomez and the Gigantic Foot of Doom is exceptionally ridiculous (though really, all of these are!). Same with the Minotaur one! #8 cracks me up too because I guarantee our cat cares for nothing in this world as long as we feed them, haha.
Thank you!
Your cat sounds very well loved.
One of these days I need to try more Sedaris one of these days. 🙂
He’s a very funny writer in general!
These are fabulous! I also found It Sucked and Then I Cried: How I Had a Baby, a Breakdown, and a Much Needed Margarita to be totally relatable, haha.
Thank you very much!
These all made me smile! I especially like How to Tell Your Cat About Trump!
Thank you very much. 🙂
So many fun ones this week! I just added The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse to my TBR pile the other day, and The Grass Is Always Greener over the Septic Tank is one of my favorites from high school Erma Bombeck is one of the best.
Yay! I hope you like it.
I’m on a library waitlist for The Grass Is Always Greener over the Septic Tank. It’s awesome that you liked that one so much.
Oh my gosh, you’ve got some fabulous titles on this list! The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse got me right off the bat. I absolutely love it!
Thank you very much. Yeah, that was a fun title for sure. 🙂
OMG. I’ve heard of #4 before — in fact, it regularly tricks me into thinking it’s a children’s/picture book when I just see the words without a cover attached — and possibly #1, but the rest are all new to me and spectacular. I think #7 is my favorite, but you found a couple of great nonfiction ones as well. And I love that the subtitle for #10 only introduces more questions…
Finally: I love #5, but honestly, it’s the “origama yoda #1” that’s killing me. “You thought this title was off the wall? There is SO MUCH MORE WHERE THAT CAME FROM.” (I was actually afraid to get my hopes up when I clicked the link to find out more, and I am so pleased to see the series titles just keep getting more ridiculous)
I assumed Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls was a picture book, too! You’re not alone there.
And, yeah, the Origami Yoda series just keeps getting funnier and funnier as far as their titles go.
The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies. That is putting a whole new dimension to the chocolate bunnies being sold for Easter, lol.
Heh, for sure.
These are great! Numbers 3 and 10 are my favorite. I am thinking of turning my cat’s adventures into a book. 🙂
Thanks for visiting my blog last week.
You’re welcome.
I hope you do turn your cat’s adventures into a book. Sounds great.
Oh I love your list so much, and need to look into them some more. it was tough picking between your Sedaris pick and the one I ended up with (me talk pretty..)
Heh, thanks a lot!
The Strange Case of Origami Yoda has a cute and fun title! My interest is piqued.
I hope you like it if you read it.
The Owl title made me smile! Not sure why… it just does. 😀 Thanks so much for the visit to Finding Wonderland, Lydia. 🙂
You’re welcome. I’m glad you liked that title.
Hilarious and fabulous book titles! Great list. 🙂
Heh, thank you!
