Top Ten Tuesday: Ice Cream Trucks on Covers

We are officially in the dog days of summer, and what better cover freebie theme to pick than ice cream trucks. They are a common sight here in North America in the summer. I don’t know if the same is true in other parts of the world, so please share if this is (or isn’t) something people look forward to in your country when the weather is hot and, depending on your local climate, possibly quite humid as well.

I have not read any of these titles yet, so let me know if they’re good.

  1. I love your take on this week’s prompt! Ice cream is probably my favorite dessert!

    My TTT: https://www.literacious.com/2026/08/04/top-ten-tuesday-cover-freebie-ya-releases-for-fall-2026/

  2. Great way to take the Freebie.

  3. We have a neighborhood ice cream truck every two weeks in the summer, but they are common at fetes/fairs/markets etc.
    Thanks for sharing your #TTT

  4. I love this theme! There’s an ice cream truck that makes the rounds near me — and there’s an app to track it 🙂
I haven’t read any of these, and certainly never thought about how many books there are with ice cream trucks on the cover! I picked up a copy of The Unexpected Everything from the library years ago, but don’t think I ended upn reading it.

  5. This summer has been so hot and I’ve been craving ice cream every day! These covers make me want some more!

  6. Love it! they’re a big thing over here in the UK as well, although we call them ice-cream vans 😀

  7. This was such a fun topic choice! I think I like the look of Melt With You best!

  8. Veros @ Dark Shelf of Wonders

I don’t buy from ice cream trucks often but I do get tempted…and now I want ice cream! I love the cover for The Unexpected Everything because of all the dogs 🥰 but I one for Melt With You is so pretty!

  9. Great choice! I love that you’ve found so many 🙂 I don’t think I can recall even one on my list but now I’m curious to see if my memory is right or not, lol.

  10. Great variety of books this week.

  11. Well, THIS is a fun subject! 🙂 I have a couple of these but don’t think I ever read them (I know, no one is surprised) but I always wanted to read Morgan’s and I’m pretty sure I bought Stay Sweet solely for its cute and summer-y art. 🙂

  12. A great idea for a list. We hear them going around the village. I haven’t had an ice cream from one this year yet though. They are quite expensive these days.

    Have a great week!

  13. Fun Choice!! I live in CO and we used to have ice cream trucks that would drive up and down the streets but I haven’t seen those since I was a kid. Now the only time I see Ice Cream trucks is at events where they are parked with other food trucks.

  14. Great topic! Here in Belgium we definitely also look forward to ice cream trucks in the summer months 😀

  15. In the ten years I’ve lived in my neighborhood, we’ve only had the ice cream truck come by twice. The only time I’ve ever actually gotten anything from one was at a fair or festival.

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.

  16. Poinsettia

  18. Fun list! I can’t resist ice-cream!

  19. This one feels really niche and you did great finding so many examples!

  20. I love this, who knew there were so many ice cream truck books? CJ Tudor’s new book Serenity Falls also has one.
