Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: Will You Watch the Super Bowl? Why or Why Not?

Drawing of a football lying on a white surface. Well, that depends on your definition of the term watch.

Will I watch the game?

No offence intended to people who do enjoy such things, but I’m not interested in playing sports myself, much less watching strangers do so on TV or in real life.

Will I watch the halftime show?

Maybe. Kendrick Lamar’s performance was fantastic last year. Bad Bunny isn’t an artist I follow, but I’m willing to check out what he puts together if I hear plenty of good things about it.

Will I eat some classic Super Bowl food?

If they involve brownies or loaded nachos sans olives, I will be quite tempted to say yes. (I’d have to make them at home, of course, so I could keep them dairy-free).

Will I watch some Super Bowl commercials?

Yes, they’re the best part of this day for me.

Is that succinct enough for you? 😉

  1. The Super Bowl sounds fun… if you take the sport out of it! 😊

  2. I’m pretty sure my super bowl party crew ONLY does it for food, fellowship, and the half-time show — though this year that may be interesting with the ‘All American’ alternative. The group skews toward probably wanting to watch that (we all stand during the anthem), but I can also see them not wanting to break from the tradition of complaining about how awful the show is. XD

(Two of the core members of this group REALLY enjoy complaining.)

  3. Love how you worked this week’s prompt around the entire aspect of Super Bowl Sunday, Lydia. I haven’t even figured out my menu for Sunday yet. I’m sure the grocery store will be a nightmare on Saturday. Green Day should be interesting to watch. I love hearing about the commercials later and watching them on YouTube.

    • Thank you!

I don’t honestly know much about Green Day’s music, so I’ll have to look it up when I look up Bad Bunny.

Good luck with your party planning and shopping.

  4. Has everyone heard, Turning Point USA will be offering an “alternative” halftime show.

Not sure how Kid Rock is supposed to bring the Christian message to the young 😎 but whatever.

  5. Snapdragon

I just listen to a Bad Bunny song in my Spanish class. We had to translate the words to English.

  6. I have been known to fast-forward to the halftime show on occasion. Probably not this year.
