  1. Great list! If I had a dog I would definitely sit them at a table so I could read to them.

  2. I feel like I might be being subjected to a psychological appraisal! πŸ˜‚ I love that little robot with the coffee – definitely my favourite! Although the tea and biscuits is making me hungry…

  3. I think I like the older woman reading to the child best, though I also like the man floating and reading. My new favorite video clip is Leslie Caron reading while dancing from American in Paris. I posted it on my blog last weekend.

I have a big author party going in Paris, after the pandemic, and I’d love to have you stop by and join in. All our favorites are there…or maybe I left someone out? Join us here!

  4. This is a hard call. The little robot stirring tea is fun, , but the skull has a memento mori aspect which I appreciate. I think my favorite is the grandmother reading to her little one, though, since it’s such a tender moment.

  5. That “body of water” isn’t just any body of water. It is the lowest point on the earth, which is the Dead Sea! The salt content is so high that you can float on it like that. I’ve been there and I actually live about 90 minute drive from there!

  6. What fun photos! The tiny robot stirring coffee is adorable! My favourite is the man reading while floating in the sea. I would totally do that if I ever visited the Dead Sea.

  7. These photos are so fun! The tiny robot stirring coffee is adorable and I love the man who reads while floating in the sea. I would totally do that if I ever visited the Dead Sea.

  8. is the girl in the first photo really sad? perhaps sheΒ΄s just in deep thoughts?I think I like the senior woman reading to the little girl best

  9. Hi Lydia, what a fun idea! That little robot stirring tea is so cute 😍

  10. I’d go with the skull on top of the book πŸ™‚

  11. I love the skull one but I do tend to gravitate towards gothic more often than not. πŸ™‚

  12. Love the cups of tea and cookies on a wonderful lace table cloth. Very elegant.

  13. Some of these totally hit a nostalgia spot for me. I used to love reading with my grandma!!!

  14. Jo

Love the woman reading a book to her dog, I feel like that will be future me.

What a fun choice for this week’s freebie. It’s interesting to have a visual of what books can mean to different people.

  16. Of course I like the cat with the oversize glasses the most!

Fun post! Thanks for stopping by my TTT earlier on.

  17. Cute idea. I always love pictures with book.

  20. Aastha Sharma

This is amazing love the tea and cat picture 😍❀️❀️

  21. Great post Lydia. I think my favourite is a toss up between reading to your dog, and an older woman reading to a youngster. Of course reading to someone is one of my favourite things to do.

  22. Stock photos can be so special. I think my favorite is the last one. πŸ™‚

    Lauren @ Always Me

    What a fun topic. Thanks.

    Have a good week.
My Top Ten favorite books by month

  26. I think my favorite is the one with the kids reading in the forest, though I keep coming back to the one of the man floating while reading. That book is way too close to the water for comfort! Yikes!

  27. Two favorites: Drawing of a skull sitting on top of an antique book AND the cat with glasses. That is a fun topic. Thanks for dropping by my blog (Bitter Tea and Mystery).

  28. Fun! I love the sad girl with a book one, but my favorite has to be that creepy skull sitting on a book. πŸ˜€

  31. These are nice! I like the one with the senior woman reading to the child, and the girl with the book in the woods as well. Fun post!

  32. What a unique idea! Especially considering how often these are used by book bloggers. I have to say the one of the man swimming made me laugh – reading a paper book in water while wearing sunglasses: what a feat!

  33. This is a really creative idea! I really like this bookish photo, I used to use it as my blog banner a long time ago.

    My TTT: https://moonlitbooks.home.blog/2020/07/28/tttnewauthors/

  43. I like the old lady reading to the girl. It reminds me of my grandmother. I don’t remember her reading to me, but she did let me borrow her books. I’m dedicating my first book to her, even though she’s no longer with us.

  44. What a fun idea! πŸ˜‚ I think my favorite is actually the ladies balancing the books on their heads and laughing- I really like the wall behind them! ❀️

  45. Great idea for a topic! I like the photo with the tea and cookies.
Here’s my TTT list this week.

  46. Great post! I’d love to be floating in a pool with a book somewhere warm just about now!

  47. I’m loving the fifth (probably because I’m so hungry right now) 🀣

  48. Oops! I put my comment in the wrong place above.

I like the little robot one best! The man floating is a compelling image, but as a librarian, I can’t condone holding a book so close to the water! πŸ˜‰

  49. These are awesome. I love the ones with the cat, the dog and of course, the skull! Great topic!

  50. Fun topic! These photos are all great, but I think I like the first and last ones best. Also, the guy in the water because that looks super relaxing, although I’d be afraid of dropping my book and ruining it!

    Happy TTT!

  51. What a great topic this week. I love the robot stirring tea, so cute! I also like the kids reading books in the forest. All I know, is that I wish I was reading a book in the water right now. It’s so hot. haha

  52. You say sad girl holding book, I say thoughtful. Like she’s thinking about what she just read. You picked out some beautiful (and some fun!) pictures to use. Great post.

  53. I love this idea:-) And that first photo grabs me the most, it’s a little wistful:-)

  54. These are great! I recognize the two children reading in a forest — I’ve definitely used that one before! And I love the woman in the first picture, and the girls balancing books on their heads. What fun!

  55. This is a really interesting topic! For favorite image, I’m torn between the robot stirring the coffee and the woman reading to her dog, though the cookies in the sixth one do look delicious.

  56. Oh this is a fun topic idea! I’m rather fond of the one with the astronaut in outer space attached to a book, it seems like a fun metaphor! I also like the woman reading a book to her dog quite a bit, and the senior and young girl reading!

  57. What a refreshing take on the top, I love bookish photos πŸ˜€

Here’s my TTT if you want to check it out https://readwithstefani.com/10-books-i-want-to-read-by-the-end-of-2020/ Have a great day ahead!

  58. verushka

Oh my lordddd, the CAT! This is such a GREAT IDEA for a TTT — and the cutness! The cat, the astronaut drawing and the cardboard robot !!

  59. There all pretty great bookish images, but if I have to choose a favourite I think would go for the children reading in the forest, as it is beautiful and a little magical feeling. πŸ™‚

  60. I have that cardboard robot sitting on my book shelf, he is called Danbo!

Love these pictures, thanks for sharing.

  61. haha I love this topic!
this is my favorite bookish stock photo and one day I will come up with a post wacky enough to fit it https://pixabay.com/photos/animals-fantasy-composing-books-2739386/

  62. My favorites might be polar opposites of each other: the dark skull picture and the light robot-stirring-coffee picture. Fun post!

  63. What a fun post! Ummm, I’m a sucker for a cat photo. I have a similar one of my own cat when I placed my reading glasses on her. Ha!

  64. TΓ’nia @MyLovelySecret

I quite like the first photo. And, of course, the one with the cat (love cats too much to resist).

    Happy readings!

  65. This was such a unique idea!!! I love all these pictures!! How neat!

  66. This is a cool post idea. I make a zillion Pinterest pins for my blog, so I’m constantly looking at bookish stock photos. I’ve seen a few of these before.

  67. Cool topic! I like the first pic the best, but they were all pretty neat.

  68. Jessica Baker

What a great idea for a TTT!!! Loved it πŸ™‚

  69. I love bookish photos and your selection is fantastic. I especially love the one at the end with the senior reading to the little girl.

  70. RS

Oh, what a fun topic. I am instantly partial to the first one, but oh my, cookies on a fancy saucer are so tempting…

  71. This is such a great idea for a promo! I wish my dog would let me read to him, but anytime I try to read next to him, he shoves the book away with his face πŸ˜‚
