Top Ten Tuesday: Book Titles That Are Questions

Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl

I asked the Internet to give me stock photos related to the word question, and it delivered someone wearing a cardboard box over their head. They’re tapping the side of the box with one hand while making a quizzical gesture with their other arm.

I can’t stop giggling at this image and hope you all find it amusing as well. The internet really is full of surprises, isn’t it?

Let’s move on to the list.

2. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? by Mindy Kaling

  1. I also have Who’s afraid of Virginia Woolf on my list this week. I was contemplating using Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep, but then realized I will never read it, so nope!

    Great list. Happy TTT!

  2. Love that first book! Good job!

  3. Where’s Waldo? is perfect for this week. The What Killed Jane Austen and Did She Kill Him? books sound interesting! (typing questions as book titles in the middle of sentences sure sounds weird, I’m realizing, haha!)

  4. That last title is very intriguing! Great list 🙂

  5. I’m not certain of who Mindy Kaling is (other than an actress… I think?) but I’ve always chuckled at the title of her book.

  6. I see you also have the Androids and Waldo, they are quite universal.

But I love some of your other titles, What’s the Use of Walking If There’s a Freight Train Going Your Way?, How Do Witches Fly?, 4. What Killed Jane Austen? They all sound quite fascinating.

Thanks for visiting my TTT earlier.

  7. Oooh, Where’s Waldo? is perfect! I’ve seen Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? on several lists this week (mine included), but the rest of yours are new to me. I love that you used non-fiction books also! I have one on my list, but NF seems very underrepresented this week.

    • Thank you!

I’ve noticed that nonfiction isn’t mentioned as much in general in most Top Ten Tuesday posts. No idea why that might be, but it’s fascinating.

  8. Haha, love the image! Where’s Waldo is an awesome choice! So many hours of enjoyment for me and my kids. How Do Witches Fly sounds awesome! I had a few science-y books for my list, but didn’t end up including them once I filled up with fiction. (One was Do Fish Drink Water? — so much fun.)

  9. Oh, the Internet! You never know what you’re going to find. I love the title DID SHE KILL HIM? I love mysteries, so that’s a question I’m always asking – whodunit? And, even more intriguing, why?

    Happy TTT!

  10. You found some good questions as book titles for this week’s TTT! I almost put Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep on mine, but then decided not to because I’ve used that book/title for several other TTTs, so I tried to go with some other new-for-me titles. 🙂

  11. #2 is my favorite because I loved that book! It made me feel like we were best friends.

  12. An interesting list of titles here!

  13. Great list Lydia. You always come up with books that are new to me. I only recognized 5 of these, so will be checking out the others to see what they are about.

  14. Where’s Waldo is definitely the classic question 🙂 And I loved that Mindy Kaling book!

  15. You’ve got some classic “question” titles on your list! And a few that make me wonder about the book. (“A Practical Approach to Nocturnal Flights”???) Also, how did I forget Where’s Waldo?

  16. I thought of Where’s Waldo too, but didn’t put it on my list 🙂 Mine is here: https://cindysbookcorner.blogspot.com/2021/07/top-ten-tuesday-book-titles-that-are.html

  17. What a great list! I’m always intrigued by whodunit books!

  20. Great list! There are quite a few new-to-me books here that I’ll definitely need to have a look at with the intriguing titles.

  21. Great list, Lydia! Carmen would love quite a few books on this list as she is all about mystery and Victorian-era novels.

  22. Great list! I think there is only a few books that is also on the list that I did. I don’t think of Where’s Waldo? Well done.

  23. Jo

I’ve definitely seen several common ones this week, Mindy Kaling, Philip K Dick and Edward Albee have been making many an appearance. I found this one too tricky, so I decided to do my own topic this week.

  28. Wow, you came up with some great ones. I love the title Did She Kill Him?: A Victorian Tale of Deception, Adultery and Arsenic. I immediately wanted to know the answer to that question, lol.

Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? is such an intriguing title, and I’m mad I didn’t think of it myself!

  30. Did she kill him? Makes me very curious tbh, did she?
