This is one of those cases where I’ve read and enjoyed all of the Top Ten Tuesday books I’m mentioning today. It’s been a while since I’ve read some of them, but maybe they’ll become rereads this year.
Thank you to Laurie C @ Bay State Reader’s Advisory for submitting this topic.

1. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

2. Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel

3. Walden or, Life in the Woods by Henry David Thoreau

4. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

5. The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver

6. Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See

7. Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel García Márquez

8. Things Fall Apart (The African Trilogy, #1) by Chinua Achebe

9. Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Ali

10. The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan
As usual, I’ve heard of some of these including Like Water for Chocolate but never read any. 🙂
It’s interesting how that happens!
I love it when people share titles they have already read and enjoyed. Like you just did!
Thank you. I wish I could do it every time!
I loved The Poisonwood Bible.
Wasn’t it good?
I loved The Poisonwood Bible and The Joy Luck Club!
They were great.
These are wonderful choices — I’ve read 7! I do think it’s a gap in my reading that I’ve never read Things Fall Apart. I need to make a point of it!
I hope you like it if or when you read it.
The cover for Snow Flower and the Secret Fan is beautiful!
Agreed!
Lovely choices, I’ve read a few of these.
Thanks for sharing your #TTT
You’re welcome!
Very nice list. I’ve wanted to read Like Water for Chocolate for a long time.
Thank you. Hope you like it.
Great list! The Kite Runner is still on my TBR and Snow Flower and the Secret Fan sounds so interesting too.
Thank you. Glad to hear it.
I remember when I was reading The Kite Runner, I wanted to DNF it, because it felt slow. But I also found myself thinking about it when I wasn’t reading it. It’s been several years, but I still randomly think about it.
Here’s my TTT post: https://readbakecreate.com/time-to-plan-that-vacation-books-featuring-travel/
It was slow at times, but such a good ending from what I recall.
What an interesting list! I’ve read Like Water for Chocolate and Things Fall Apart but it was so long ago that I don’t remember either. I’ve always been curious about The Poisonwood Bible, though.
It was so good!
These look interesting. Enjoy re reading them!
Have a great week!
Thank you.
Ahhh, Memoirs of a Geisha. I remember loving that so much.
Yay!
Great list, Lydia. I’ve never read Walden or, Life in the Woods or Memoirs of a Geisha, but they have been on my list of want to read. Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog.
You’re welcome. They were all great.
I’ve read 5 out of 10, and all of the others are on my TBR except Infidel, which I wasn’t familiar with. Maybe nonfiction?
Thank you for visiting my blog today! My job and visiting my mom on Tuesdays after work always make me late on blog-hopping and commenting on a Tuesday.
You’re welcome. Thank you for stopping by, and no worries about when you do it.
Great list! I love Barbara Kingsolver. Happy Tuesday!
Isn’t she great?
Ooo Lydia, Memoirs of a Geisha is a great choice for this topic! Been years since I read this, but I can still picture the wonderful, exotic descriptions of place, that made you feel you were there! 😊
Thank you so much. Yes, wonderful descriptions in that book.
What a superb list! I’ve read and loved nearly all of these. Nice work!
Thanks. 🙂
What a great selection of books! I’ve added Infidel to my TBR. And thanks for reminding me about The Poisonwood Bible, which is already on it.
You’re welcome. Happy reading.
Great list! Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden is such a great one!!
Thanks. 🙂
I love your list! I’ve only read two (The Joy Luck Club and Like Water for Chocolate) but several of the others are on my TBR list.
Aww, thanks1
What a list of great books! I’ve read several of these and loved them too, and the ones I haven’t read have been on my TBR forever! I should really make my way through them.
Thank you. I hope you like the ones you haven’t read yet. If only we all had endless time to read.
I recommend Bruce Chatwin ‘In Patagonia’ for that feeling of travelling!
A film, ‘Patagonia’, was made in 2011 and also features Welsh emigrants in Patagonia and other themes, which I recommend.
Thank you for stopping by, Herbert. It’s always nice to hear from you. I keep trying to figure out how to comment on your blog, too.
I’ll look both of those up. Very cool.
