Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: Books I Keep Meaning to Read (but Haven’t)

A dozen hardbacked books placed with their spines sticking up. The angle of the photo isn’t quite high enough to read their titles, but you can see their white pages and the yellow wall behind them. Since I’m such a huge mood reader, some books hang around on my TBR list for a very long time. Here are some of them:

1. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

2. Dune (Dune, #1) by Frank Herbert

3. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

4. The Warm Hands of Ghosts by Katherine Arden

5. Death of the Author by Nnedi Okorafor

6. Children of Time (Children of Time, #1) by Adrian Tchaikovsky

Now I’m drawing a blank at what else to add!

  1. I’ve become a big mood reader these past 5-ish years, too! Death of the Author is a book I was excited enough about to pre-order, but I haven’t been in the mood to read it yet. Hopefully soon!

Another book on my long term TBR is Passage by Connie Willis. I’ve been intimidated by the high page count, but I’m hoping that I’ll just suck it up and read it soon.

  2. Book Thief is quite good. Dune is..significant. I can understand why it has such a deep, passion fanbase.

  3. I haven’t fully made it through The Book Thief yet. The writer in me likes the idea of death as a character. My reading brain wasn’t as much of a fan. Thanks for sharing, Lydia.

  4. I’ve never read any of those. Dune is the only one I remember putting on a TBR list…around 1981, 1982? Not high priority TBR.

  5. My daughter really loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. The Warm Hands of Ghosts sounds good too. Great list!
