The original theme for this week was “Bookish Wishes,” but after a few years of sharing general bookish wishes I’m kind of tapped out for creativity in that area.
Instead, I’m going to be joining in the alphabet book trend. I believe that Pam @ Read Bake Create might have been the first person to do this back in 2022, but please let me know if someone else should be credited instead.
Here are ten books I’ve read since 2013 that begin with the letter A.

1. The Atheist Muslim: A Journey from Religion to Reason by Ali. Rizvi

2. Allegedly by Tiffany D. Jackson
(I was not able to link the cover of this book to this post).
3. The Asshole Survival Guide: How to Deal with People Who Treat You Like Dirt by Robert J. Sutton

4. Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and how It Can Help You Find – And Keep – Love by Amir Levine

5. American Baby: A Mother, a Child, and the Shadow History of Adoption by Gabrielle Glaser

6. American Contagions: Epidemics and the Law from Smallpox to Covid-19 by John Fabian Witt

7. The Annals of a Country Doctor by Carl Matlock, MD

8. Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer

9. The Autumn Ghost: How the Battle Against a Polio Epidemic Revolutionized Modern Medical Care by Hannah Wunsch

10. Apis by Liz Boysha (My review)
Annihilation by VanderMeer is one that I randomly read and enjoyed it so much!
Glad to hear it. I liked it, too!
Thank you for checking out my post earlier Lydia! I have only ever heard of Annihilation from this list before. Looks like an interesting selection of books.
You’re welcome. Have you seen the film version of Annihilation? I thought it was well done.
I love this idea of filling in with a letter for the top 10. I might do that on weeks that I want to participate but don’t necessarily want to do the topic. I know I saw the movie for Annihilation, but can’t remember if I read the book. All the rest are new to me except Allegedly, which I haven’t read yet though. Love the cover of Apis, need to go check out your review!
Apis was a good read, and so was Allegedly.
And, yeah, this is a great filler for freebie weeks or when the assigned topic doesn’t work for whatever reason for you. 🙂
Fun to see! I actually have a copy of another book by Robert Sutton, The No Asshole Rule — I keep it on my bookshelf at work 🙂
Oh, cool!
Atheist Muslim sounds…interesting, especially considering people like Ayaan Hirsi Ali who grew up Muslim, became atheist, and (recently) declared she was a Christian. There are those like Richard Dawkins who doubt her sincerity. I haven’t read her enough recently to have an opinion though.
I didn’t know she recently became a Christian. interesting! I’ve only ever read that one book from her.
I remember hearing good things about Allegedly.
It was quite interesting.
The Autumn Ghost sounds really interesting!
It was great.
I haven’t read any of these, thanks for sharing your #TTT
You’re welcome. I think it’s fun to be introduced to new books.
Using the alphabet to find books for a book list is fun. 🙂 Thanks for visiting my list this week.
You’re welcome! A lot of TTT bloggers are doing it now. 🙂
Ooh, American Contagions looks interesting. 👀 Nice list!
It was really good.
I like this type of topic. Interesting books on your list.
Thank you. So many other TTT bloggers have done it that I finally decided to join in. 😂
Yay, welcome to the alphabet challenge, it’s a fun one 🙂
Thank you. 🙂
I didn’t expect the subject to be about polio from the title of The Autumn Ghost. I’m intrigued!
It was such a good read!
Nice way to start the alphabet. Some of these sound so intriguing. Thanks for sharing and for visiting my blog.
You’re welcome. Thanks for your kind words.
I haven’t read any of these but a few of them like The Atheist Muslim and Annihilation sound really interesting.
They were excellent!
Allegedly was excellent. Good luck with this challenge!
Thank you, and yes, it was.
Intriguing list! I’m off to read up on a few of these.
Happy reading!
It’s been years since I read Allegedly, but I still think about that one. Thanks for sharing!
It was so interesting. 🙂
Maybe I need to jump on this alphabet band wagon on the weeks I go rogue!
Go for it! 🙂
Ooh what a clever posting device, and also a really good looking list of books. Annihilation has been on my list for awhile… i should get on that. Happy summer reading!
Thank you. I hope you love that title. The film was amazing, too.
